A fatal car crash has left a Lafayette family mourning the loss of their loved ones. The car accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
The accident occurred on I-10 around 11 p.m. The driver of a Ford F-150 lost control while traveling eastbound on the highway. This caused the driver of a Chevrolet Pickup traveling westbound to swerve in an attempt to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, this swerve sent the car into the median. The out of control Ford also crossed the median and collided with the left side of the Chevrolet. At the time of the collision, the Ford was towing a four-wheeler on an eight-foot trailer. Both vehicles drifted across the westbound lanes after the collision. The Ford finally stopped in the right lane and shoulder. The Chevrolet stopped in the tree line. The driver of the Ford was unhurt. The Chevrolet had four occupants, two of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased were husband and wife.
