Lloyd N. Frischhertz is the managing partner of the firm Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato L.L.C. Lloyd Frischhertz is a 1973 graduate of Loyola University School of Law and is a member of the Bar of the Louisiana Supreme Court, United States District Court, Eastern and Western District, United States District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and is admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
Lloyd Frischhertz is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, formerly , the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Bar Association of the 5th Circuit, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association.
He is a long time member of the board of Governors of LTLA and a past president of the Loyola School of Law Alumni Association. Mr. Frischhertz is a regular speaker for several continuing legal education programs including, Loyola University continuing legal education program, and the programs sponsored by LTLA, GNOBFA, LABI, and National Institute for continuing legal education.
Lloyd N. Frischhertz has established legal precedents and has been involved in several landmark cases before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, various Louisiana Circuit Courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court. His landmark decisions have involved criminal and evidentiary matters, LHWCA and Maritime cases, a Louisiana gambling case and uninsured motorists issues under Louisiana Law.
Specifically, in Longshore cases his landmark decisions involve burden of proof, standard for total disability, last employer rule in occupational disease cases, double recovery issue and third party settlements under LHWCA Section 33 (g).
Mr. Frischhertz has extensive trial experience at the trial court and at the highest court both in Louisiana State Court and the Federal Courts. He has handled cases primarily in Louisiana but has, also, handled cases in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Nevada and Wisconsin.
Mr. Frischhertz has secured for several clients awards from trial or settlement in excessive of 1 million dollars. While Mr. Frischhertz successfully handles a variety of civil cases, he has an established expertise in LHWCA and maritime cases. Some of Mr. Frischhertz's landmark decisions are as follows:
